Located 56 kilometres west from Male’ International Airport, Kuramathi is about 1.8km long. Guest villas are scattered around lush gardens, facing secluded areas of long beaches or poised over water. Many areas of the island remain untouched, inviting guests to leisurely stroll along deserted beaches or through virgin vegetation.

All villas feature king-sized bed, attached bathroom, shower, hot and cold water, air conditioning, fan, hair dryer, bath and beach towels, bathrobes, bathroom amenities, minibar, in-room safe, IDD telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, flat screen TV with cable and sundecks with sunloungers.

Dining

In addition to the three main international buffet restaurants that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, Kuramathi has nine à la carte restaurants offering a range of cuisine to suit all palates. For couples, booking a Romance Dinner or a sumptuous Lobster Dinner on a secluded corner on the beach is ideal.

Diving

The Rasdhoo Divers team has been providing exciting and safe dives for adventurous Kuramathi guests amongst the amazing marine life and warm waters of the Indian Ocean, since 1994. Our experienced, multi-lingual dive team provides a friendly and professional service to our guests and our enthusiastic instructors will inspire beginners to discover this amazing liquid world while learning to dive with SSI or PADI. Experienced divers will also find challenging dives with many types of sharks, mantas, turtles, rays, napoleons, barracuda, trevally and tuna as well as many of the smaller, but no less interesting inhabitants of the reef.

Our popular Shark Point, just out from the infamous Madivaru Reef, is only a mere 8 minute boat ride from Kuramathi, and at times still offers lucky advanced divers the chance to see the magnificent Hammerhead sharks as the sun rises – this is one of the few remaining places in the world where you can occasionally still see these majestic creatures.

Comfort and convenience for diving guests is assured with fast, modern dive boats that reach more than 20 local dive sites in an average boat ride of just 15 minutes. Our local Rasdhoo atoll trips are supplemented by half day and full day trips to dive some of the best sites in neighbouring North Ari atoll.

We also provide nitrox for free as additional safety for certified Nitrox divers or offer the course and certification in your preferred language. Furthermore, we are well-supported by the Kuramathi Medical Centre and Hyperbaric Chamber.

Recreation

Kuramathi’s house reef makes for a great Maldives snorkelling experience.

In between your over and undersea adventures, or to simply unwind, you can choose to while away your time on a secluded corner of the beach or beside one of the pools at this idyllic Maldives holiday resort.

We have special activities designed just for kids, teenagers and young adults. Additionally, Bageecha our kids club, offers exciting adventures for our younger guests of ages 3 and 12.

Kuramathi stands out amongst Maldives family resorts with its dedication to providing an exciting holiday for the entire family.

The term Bageecha is coined from the local name for ‘Park or Garden’ and is also the name of the Kid’s Club at Kuramathi Maldives.

Open from 08:30hrs to 19:30hrs, Bageecha offers age-appropriate fun experiences to our younger guests. A wide range of outdoor and indoor activities is organised for kids of 3 to 12 years including many activities such as nature walks, treasure hunts, beach activities, as well as marine life education in conjunction with the resort’s Eco Centre. Bageecha is also open from 19:30hrs to 24.00hrs by prior reservation, at extra charge.

We also celebrate special occasions and festivals such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas with extra fun activities, just for the occasion! Dress up as a witch, help us decorate our Christmas tree or go on an egg hunt!

Here at Kuramathi we are blessed with a naturally beautiful island. Therefore, we must and we do our best to keep the island and our community in its pristine state.

We are dedicated to protecting our environment and take steps everyday towards sustainable practices within our operations. On the island, we have a Marine Biologist who heads our Environment Committee and together we work to make this a better environment for our team, our host community and finally offer an enriched experience for all our guests.
