LOCATION

Silhouette is the third largest island in the Seychelles, but one of its most secluded. Think of it as a desert island escape, with a side order of luxury. Only 200 inhabitants call it home and most of them work at the island’s only resort hotel, the five-star Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa. That’s about as built-up as it gets, though. In fact, over 90% of the isle is designated as a national park.

ACCOMMODATION

The resort is comprised of private villas, which sit in a protected Marine National Park. Its serene surroundings range from white sandy beaches to lush jungles and mountains. The peaceful, undisturbed island blooms with tropical flora, and you can visit a nearby tortoise sanctuary to meet tortoises that are more than a century old. 

There are multiple villas to choose from, but they all feature a private patio or terrace and an outdoor rain shower. Indoors, you will find slippers, bathrobes, a separate tub and shower, a dedicated living area and complimentary WiFi. Room service and 24-hour housekeeping are also available. Some villas even have their own pool. You can choose a villa with its own garden and courtyard, a beachfront villa or a Silhouette Estate – a two-bedroom residence with butler service.

FACILITIES

Little ones have their own agenda at the hotel-run kids’ club. Come evening, things are on the peaceful end of the scale – apart from the weekly street food festival.

The hotel’s got the only five-star PADI diving centre on the island. Or you can rent snorkels to explore the protected coral reef. Free activities include beach yoga and minigolf. You can sign up for hikes at the hotel. You’ve got the option of heading to remote beaches like Grand Barbe and Anse Mondon, or up to Jardin Marron, where you can see the rare coco de mer trees.
